Overview
A leading American game publisher needed a dependable way to convert monthly POS submissions from 200+ stores into consistent BI-ready data. Store files varied in product names, identifiers, quantities, languages, completeness, packaging logic, and competitor items, so every submission required normalization against the client product master before downstream analysis.
The Challenge
Product identifiers such as SKU, UPC, ISBN, descriptions, variants, bundles, and quantities could conflict or require interpretation, while foreign-language descriptions and older products added additional exception work.
Missing required fields, excluded competitor data, late store submissions, and unresolved product lines also needed separate tracking so the BI team could distinguish usable output from items requiring follow-up.
The ARDEM Solution
ARDEM built a recurring monthly POS data workflow around store receipt tracking, rule-based master-SKU matching, field validation, normalization, human exception research, exclusion control, issue reporting, client master-data review, and UTF-8 CSV delivery.
Automation handled repeatable known-product matching while analysts managed the records that required judgment, and the client retained control of master-data approvals and new-product decisions.

The Results
ARDEM created a standardized POS data workflow across 200+ stores and processed more than 157,000 lines through master-data matching, normalization rules, human exception review, exclusion control, issue reporting, and client-governed master updates. Monthly data was delivered within one week of receipt, with ongoing visibility into store submission and processing status. The original case study also reports that the client Business Intelligence team measured output accuracy at 99.97%.

The 157,000+ POS Lines Were Only the Visible Problem
The Larger Risk Was Feeding Business Intelligence With Inconsistent Product and Quantity Data
The client did not only need more data processing capacity. Every store file had to be reconciled against a common product reference before sales activity could be compared reliably.
Automation could resolve known matches, but conflicting identifiers, aliases, packaging logic, foreign-language descriptions, excluded products, and missing fields still required analyst judgment and separate issue paths.
The operating model therefore had to connect master-data governance, normalization, exceptions, client review, and delivery visibility before data reached BI.
ARDEM processed more than 157,000 POS lines across 200+ stores through a managed normalization workflow combining client master data, rule-based matching, analyst exception review, issue reporting, store-submission tracking, and BI-ready UTF-8 CSV delivery. The original case study reports 99.97% accuracy measured by the client BI team.
