On-demand computing is similar to outsourcing in the sense that it involves the allocation of certain tasks to an external team on a contract basis.
However, unlike outsourcing in which business processes are outsourced, on-demand computing involves the contracting of only computing resources, i.e., cloud services as and when needed by the customer.
